Our story

We're building the reference manual the internet never gave car owners.

CarKnowIt started with a simple frustration: a question as basic as “what oil does my Camry take?” returned ten contradictory answers and zero sources.

So we set out to do the unglamorous work: read the factory service data, cross-reference NHTSA recall and complaint records, and sit with thousands of real owner reports until a single, trustworthy answer emerged for every question.

The result is an encyclopedia, not a blog. Each entry is structured, dated, and cited — so when you need a torque value, a fluid capacity, or the truth about a recall, you get the figure and where it came from.

What makes us different

Encyclopedic structure. Verified data. Zero filler.

A

Structured Like a Manual

Entries follow a consistent shape — spec, interval, source — so you always know where to look.

B

Sourced and Dated

Recalls, complaints, and figures trace back to NHTSA and factory data, with the date attached.

C

No Filler, No Bias

No padded word counts and no dealership influence — only what an owner actually needs to know.

The vision

Today the Camry. Tomorrow every car you'll ever own.

The Camry encyclopedia is a template. Once complete, the same rigor rolls out brand by brand — Honda, Ford, Subaru, and beyond.
